When You BALIeve!
I made my way to Bali on one October holiday – armed with just an overnight bag and a pair of trekking sandals. This was at the invite of my beautiful friend and Nong Kingthong to stay at her and Mimi ‘s lovely Planet Biru Villa … with my mole / bb beau AJ in tow
Definitely memorable was going to Nusa Penida (Penida Island)’s Kelingking Viewpoint & Beach. First you had to ‘view’ a so-called dinosaur island, then come full circle by trekking a 45-minute 400m (rocky, almost vertical) trail (with full sun exposure and assured sunburns) to reach the Beach. Once you reach the Beach, however, it is really a sight to behold. You would marvel at its grandeur, realizing that the trek was so worth it.
In my short stay, I realized that everything about Bali is exotic, warm, and almost mystical in a way – like a spiritual city. No wonder Bali is also called Pulau Dewata (island of the gods).
The Gods were definitely kind to us. Perhaps, they would let me/us visit again, and longer next time.
Here are a few photos from my short trip.
