Top 10 Wonderful Things To Do in Krabi Thailand
It’s been another great year I had, when I found myself hanging around in different countries, lots of confusion on my career about what do I really want? but the good thing is I am still surviving. I always talk to myself, thy will be done, or bahala na si Batman. It’s been tough last six months I had, Its really different if you are finding a job outside the country. I’ve been in Macau, China last three months to find new beginning of my career with my friends but sad to say we didn’t make it as I realise I don’t really understand Chinese culture, sorry to say, or maybe its not our time or ‘luck’.
I am blessed that I find job in Thailand as Senior Programmer, sitting on the high-end office chair, with my own classy room surrounded with thick shiny glass at the 15th floor of the building with beautiful background of Bangkok, Thailand. But Oooops!~~ I need to fast forward it! Weekend is coming and we’ve plan to go to Krabi, Thailand with my new found best friend in Bangkok name Jariga. Let’s go!
Top 10 Wonderful Things To Do in Krabi Thailand
These are my tips that I would like to share to you, so that you can save money when you travel to Krabi. First, from Bangkok book a trip as early as possible, like 3-4 weeks before you are planning to go, and Thai Lion Air is the best airline, easy to book and sometimes they have a great promotion. We got our round-trip ticket for 2,000 THB only coz we book early and its a promo.
When you arrive in Krabi, at the airport itself theres a lot of tour guides and tour booths that you need to visit, just ask what is the price regarding the bus-transfer going to Krabi. It’s really affordable, we got it for 150 THB each via bus and some asking you 350-500TH for taxi (not recommended). All the things I listed here are certified fun and exciting and don’t judge me because I will tell you that this is only for backpackers who wants to save money. Next all you need to do is Enjoy!
1. Book for Sight Seeing Cruise Island Hopping
This one of the best to do in Krabi because not only they offer affordable prices and packages but you will really enjoy the sunny beach and island hopping with other tourist from different countries. You can see the beauty of nature of Krabi, although a lot of stops but It’s really worth it. We only pay for 1500 THB, Just continue reading and I will tell you later what is the inclusions for this.
2. Go for Snorkeling
If you don’t know how to swim, you can still do this because they provide life jacket and hey! you only live once so why afraid to try new things? Snorkeling is my favorite part every time I go island hopping, coz I can talked to the fish (even though the fish is Thailander I can still talked to them and they understand me., pekaaap ani na kap haha), I can see the beauty of coral reefs, and I miss our bonding with the sea-water. I have an intimate relationship with the sea water, it feels like it fills all the emptiness that I have (Chars!). A lot of different creatures you can witness under the sea, seeing them living is one of the greatest things I’ve seen and I am happy with that connections I made. Don’t worry this is included to the package of 1500 THB i told you will be amazed.
3. Eat dinner while watching fire dancing!
This is the romantic part after the sunset. You will really enjoy this part because the cruise will stop in one of the Island and they will provide you a free dinner. I suggest you to bring wine if you still have a budget because you will really enjoy the fire dancing and the music. You can also dance with them, its FREE. As I said this is also included to the 1500 THB Package. Amazing right?
4. Do planktons Snorkeling at Night
When the dinner is finished the tour guide name Akam instructed us to comeback in the cruise because we still have have snorkeling with the planktons. I was asking myself what the heck are planktons? What it looks like? They are telling me its the smallest sea creatures that glows in the dark and I was so very excited with that. I remember when I was in high school, it was a family trip and we have night swimming in the beach. One night I pee on the beach and I saw my urine glowing, that time I was so amazed because my urine is glowing and I just realise now that it is not my urine is glowing but its the planktons. Whoaaaa, mind blowing haha! (This is still included to the package).
5. Taste the different spicy foods in the street
Food is really awesome in Thailand. I can say everywhere you go especially if you are Asian you will used to eat street foods. Bangkok is very popular to their street foods as they have variety of street foods that you need to try. In Krabi, they have lots of unique and awesome street foods that you will love. I enjoy eating Somtam or papaya salad, and Ja wants me to try the most spicy one. Then, after that, I die, coz its extremely hot. ;P
6. Bar hopping and Drink beer in the street
Ohhh Beer! this is the most fun part to do in Krabi. Many bars in the street that you can chill out and do bar hopping. Some have live music band and some have cool funky music so that you can dance. You can freely choose what you want depends on your vibe. During the night, a lot of small shops open, then you can buy souveneirs or if you forgot to bring your swim wear, you can buy there and it is affordable. Me and Ja always drink beer while hanging around the street of Krabi. We really enjoy to do that, as it feels so relaxing and chill. Thailand allowed some places that you can drink beer in the street, people are afraid to do bad things there except Ja she’s not afraid (haha), but as long as you don’t harm anybody you can get drunk it the street. 😉
7. Hire Motorbike and drive safely
You want more adventurous? what is great in Krabi is that, they allowed you to hire a motorbike and drive around the hilly part of Krabi. Make sure bring your drivers license, but if you are a tourist don’t have it just ask someone to accompany you, and you can enjoy the place there. Hey make sure you are not drunk because I will remind you its always great if you keep your self safe all the time.
8. Go Kayaking
Go Kayaking. I really enjoy this part. This is also the most exhausting part that we do in Krabi, yet its a blissful memories. I enjoy sight seeing in the lake while rocking the cradle. You have the opportunity also to visit one of the oldest cave in town and It looks fascinating. Me and Ja listen to the music while we drive our own kayak as it is not a joke to do kayaking for 2 hours. We also have foods with us so that we can eat anytime if we are hungry. This is NOT included in the package but we pay cheap for the kayaking, its only 600 THB for both of us and we do it from 10am – 3pm.
9. Submerge yourself in the beach
Have an intimate relationship with the sea water. Hey! I will always repeat this phrase because when you go the beach and you don’t submerge yourself into the water, and yu have lots of reasons that you are afraid coz your skin will become tan; and you just want to show your body to people; your swim suit? your attire? F** Off!! you do modelling, don’t go the beach (HAHA). I encourage you to have an intimate relationship with the sea water, feel the fluid flowing to your skin and kiss the salty flavor of it. Talk to the nature and Thank GOD he created all of this! After that leave all your problems and stress there, so that your feel renewed and unwind.
10. Don’t forget your cameras to take photos of your memories
Ohh most people always do this, generation X is different nowadays they love to take photos and do selfies. So take a snap always and do jump shot. Memories are more important than money, You can’t buy memories instantly in seven eleven. If you grow old and you flashbacks all the memories you have, it gives you more courage to live and comeback to this unpredictable world. Lastly I just want to say enjoy your stay in Krabi.
If you have any comments and questions just free to write it here. Thank you!
Before I forgot, we stay here at “The Place Aonang”. It is cheap like 1000 THB per night for both of us and it is walking distance also to the beach, bars, shops and bus transfer.
